This is overlooking East San José. The lake is Lake Cunningham. This is from 1986 so this out of date. The area shown has been developed, and has become generally wealthy since this was taken. The Santa Cruz Mountains are in the distance.

This is not a clear picture, but this is overlooking most of the Santa Clara Valley. This is only about 1500' up, so even on a clear day you can't see past Silicon Valley from here.
