Interstate 405 Photos Index Page

I405 runs from I5 in Orange County to I5 near 14, and bypasses the slow part of I5 (from Route 60 to the Orange County line.) I5 is six lanes wide (total!) on that stretch, at least it was the last time I drove through in 2001. 405 is mainly 10 lanes wide, except for an 8 lane stretch from I10 to US101, though that is being widened, with a carpool lane being added. The diamond lanes are 24 hours a day, and so is the rush hour. The carpool lane runs up to about 105 on Northbound 405 and starts up again past US101. On Southbound 405 it runs to about Highway 2, then starts up again after 105. I have a little over 100 photos of it, and I hope you enjoy these photos.
