88 East in Alpine County

East of 89 at the east side of Hope Valley and it is entering the Carson River Canyon.

The mountains in the distance are east of US395, in Nevada.
Here 88 is dropping down into the Great Basin.
Near Crystal Springs Campground and Woodfords is in the distance.

Note the "road closed" sign on a gate at the left side of the road.
The Emigrant Trail veers to the left, a bit past where this photo was taken.
